Parallel editing is the act of filming two scenes so that they run parallel to one another meaning they are happening at the same time in the movies time for example in The Matrix Revolutions when the soldiers are fighting the machines and Morpheus and Niobe are trying to get into Zion. This is a good example of parallel editing, at the end of these events the two scenes converge into the one.
